The exhibition will remain on display throughout the pub for one month — so whether you join us on the night or pop in later for a pint, you’ll have the chance to experience Aida’s vibrant, expressive paintings up close.
🎶 Followed by The Bevy’s legendary Disability Disco (from 7:00 PM) — an inclusive, joy-filled night of music, dancing and big smiles. Our monthly disco is designed to welcome people with disabilities, but everyone’s invited to get involved.

Meet Aida
Aida is a remarkable young artist with severe and complex special needs that affect every part of her daily life. She was born in Bosnia in 1997 and placed in the Sarajevo state orphanage at birth before being adopted by Julie, a British volunteer, and moving to the UK in 2002.
From an early age, Aida loved experimenting with colour. In 2016, while at Downs View Link College, she was encouraged to paint Brighton’s iconic helter-skelter — a piece that sparked huge admiration and inspired her to continue creating. With support from teachers and mentors, Aida developed her own bold, instinctive painting style.
Since then, her work has appeared in major exhibitions, including:
A solo show at the BAi360 in 2018
Featuring in the Turner Prize exhibition at the Herbert Art Gallery, Coventry (2021)
Contributing to Documenta 15 in Kassel, Germany (2022)
Taking part in the Amaze Exhibition at Phoenix Gallery, Brighton (2023)
Aida now paints at home and with the inclusive collective Project Art Works in Hastings. Her pieces are known for their strong, confident colour and joyful energy.
