It certainly felt like Christmas on Friday as we switched on the lights for the launch of the Higher Bevendean Advent Trail at a packed pub on a cold and frosty evening.
Pubs and Christmas go together like hands in gloves this time of the year and we’ve got plenty to celebrate.
Next up is our Christmas Smithie-okie on the 15th from 7.30pm. We are combining this, which replaces our monthly disability disco, although everyone is of course welcome to come and sing it there way.
We’ve then got our Children’s Christmas party on Thursday 21st Expect music and presents and free food for everyone. Will Santa, Rudolph and his sleigh be making an appearance again?
Our weekly Seniors lunch club has its Christmas Party on the 22nd with roast dinner with all the trimmings. This is free but booking essential.
In fact of these parties are completely free thanks to funding from East Brighton Trust, Custom Pharma Services, Enjoolata Foundation and others along with people who have signed up to our Friends of the Bevy scheme.
On Thursday 28th our kids club will be run by Jools so expect silent discos, games – and of course free food for all the family from 3.30 till 5pm
We are also working with Age UK to serve up free fish and chips for our seniors club on the 29th December, so that no one needs to be alone inbetween the festivities
We finish with our everyone welcome New Years Eve Party and will be wishing for a magic money tree wand and more Bevy pubs across the country to bring people and communities together.
